Minimum Qualifications

Education

Master’s Degree in a Human Services field such as:

  • Social Work (MSW)
  • Counseling
  • Psychology
  • Marriage & Family Therapy
  • Human Services
  • Rehabilitation
  • Education
  • Criminal Justice

Experience

Minimum of 2 years experience working with children

(Internships, practicums, and volunteer experience count toward this requirement.)

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual Spanish / English
  • American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for community-based travel
  • Ability to provide services in home, school, and community settings
  • Ability to pass required background checks

Pennsylvania Counseling Services (PCS) is seeking a Master’s Level Mental Health Therapist / Family Therapist to join our Family Based Mental Health Program.

This role focuses on providing intensive therapy to children and families within their homes, schools, and communities using the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model, a nationally recognized evidence-based family therapy approach.

We are actively working to expand the diversity of our clinical team and strongly encourage bilingual clinicians (Spanish or American Sign Language) and clinicians from diverse backgrounds to apply.

This position is ideal for therapists who want to make a meaningful impact on children and families while developing advanced clinical skills in family therapy.

Bilingual Bonus
Additional compensation opportunities are available for therapists fluent in Spanish.

Paid ESFT Certification
PCS provides fully funded training and certification in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), a highly respected model for treating complex family systems, with time spent in training paid at a billable rate

What You’ll Do

As a Child & Family Therapist, you will:

  • Provide intensive family therapy and behavioral health interventions for children and families
  • Deliver services in home, school, and community-based settings
  • Help parents develop effective strategies for managing behavioral and emotional challenges
  • Provide crisis intervention and family stabilization support
  • Collaborate with a Bachelor’s-level Mental Health Worker to co-treat a small caseload of up to 8 families
  • Participate in weekly team supervision and clinical consultation
  • Develop treatment plans and maintain clinical documentation
