Pennsylvania Counseling Services (PCS) is seeking a Bachelor’s-level Outpatient Therapist to join our Mental Health & Drug & Alcohol treatment team in Pottsville, Pennsylvania as part of a federally funded initiative focused on Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) prevention, maternal recovery, and family stability. This position is designed to expand clinical capacity in rural communities with limited access to specialized behavioral health services. Therapists will support pregnant and postpartum women experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders while helping strengthen maternal-infant outcomes and family stability.
This role includes a structured, grant-funded training period, intensive onboarding, and a gradually built caseload to support skill development and confidence working with this specialized population.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and provide individual and group outpatient therapy for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Provide specialized support to pregnant and postpartum women impacted by SUD/OUD
- Support early identification and intervention efforts related to maternal behavioral health needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including medical providers, case managers, and community partners
- Assist in strengthening maternal-infant attachment and family stability through trauma-informed and family-systems approaches
- Coordinate referrals and support engagement with partner agencies and community resources
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and program requirements
Specialized Training Included
During the grant-funded training period, clinicians will receive structured education and supervision in:
- Perinatal mental health and substance use during pregnancy
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) awareness and prevention
- Neonatal and infant development
- Family systems theory and attachment-focused interventions
- Motivational interviewing and engagement strategies
- Safety planning and trauma-informed care
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with medical and early childhood providers
This training model is designed to build long-term clinical capacity and develop therapists who can serve as future mentors and regional clinical leaders
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday, with two evening shifts per week
- Office Hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay
- $19/hour during Grant Funded Training Period
- Salary range after training: $29,000 – $43,000
